Even with the exposure of the minority in the beauty community, makeup users from different races, ages, and genders are on social media. There is still a lack of learning tools and the knowledge and techniques people need to be able to fully express themselves

PAIN POINTS
Makeup for me is a way of self-expression but as a middle eastern girl with brown almond eyes and tan skin and an olive undertone. It was never easy to learn how to wear makeup for my own complexion and facial features, as I did not have any role model in the media when I wanted to use makeup in a way that’s both
artistic and enhancing my beauty.

Growing up, My mother was the only one who looked somewhat similar to me but we didn’t share the same aesthetic and it was almost
impossible to follow beauty magazines as the models looked nothing like me. I have always liked western and east Asian makeup but as a middle eastern following that style wasn’t
really an option when I didn’t have the resources

In 2005, YouTube gained popularity on the web, and in the beauty community, it has become the main
platform for it. Makeup artists would share their looks, techniques and tips, and tricks but that wasn’t
convenient for me as the tutorials were often too long and the MUA looked nothing like me.

Later on, Pinterest and beauty blogs also gained popularity among makeup lovers and were followed by Instagram and TikTok later on. And even though social media has made it easier and more open for diversity for makeup users, it is still a journey trying to find a more suffocate and user-friendly platform where someone can look up looks by MUA that have similar facial features and skin complexion like them.
GOAL/Challenges
Create a user-friendly platform where everyone feels more welcomed and is able to express their artistry
or enhance their natural beauty with tutorials designed for their unique facial features. A unique, personalized, and customized experience like no other platform.

An interactive magazine in which the user will be able to choose their facial features and skin tone and it will help them learn how to apply any makeup look on their own unique features.
The user will as well be given the choice to choose their preferred makeup style and the option to choose to learn it on themselves or a model close to their facial features.
mäkēˈ(y)äZH gives you the option to follow the makeup tutorial at your own pace, with photos, short videos, and illustrations to help you step by step without feeling overwhelmed.
You'll be given the option to choose a model that has similar features and watch how you could apply makeup using tools and techniques accessible for anyone!
